This imagined piece was created after my visit to Barcelona in the early 2000s. It's based on the famous architecture of the Sagrada Família cathedral, which holds a unique blend of architectural styles, including Spanish Gothic, Art Nouveau, and Catalan modernism. It's also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Although there are no living witnesses to the fire that once engulfed a section of the church, I reimagined it in this moment. The church's design is intended to create a spiritual atmosphere and I was inspired by the work of Antoni Gaudí, the leading Catalan modernist architect who dedicated 40 years to the project. Gaudí's love of nature is evident in the church's design, with no straight lines or sharp corners. The Sagrada Família is a dominant feature of Barcelona's skyline and is the world's largest unfinished church, having been under construction for almost 150 years - and still going with cranes constantly towering over the Barcelona skyline.
